Tracey Puddy, a long-standing employee of Koller, has completed the challenge to walk one million steps for Diabetes UK.
In just three months, Tracey pushed herself to take 1 million steps, this averages at just over 10,000 steps a day and over 500 miles in total. All this effort was to raise money for Diabetes UK, a charity close to her heart.
“I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 30 years ago so completing this challenge was very important to me. I wanted not only to raise money, but to also raise awareness of diabetes and just how serious it is.
“It was hard work completing the 1 million steps, especially with a young family, but I was determined to complete the challenge. I just want to thank everybody who sponsored and supported me throughout the three months that I had to complete the challenge.”
Each week thousands of people in the UK suffer heart attacks, heart failure, stroke, amputation and blindness because of their diabetes. But when people manage their diabetes well they can avoid these life-threatening complications and stay healthy. Diabetes UK is helping to raise awareness and money for the cause.
